Where did spring break go?

Spring break has come and gone and any hope for coming back to a less stressful semester flew out the window along the way.  The past three days have been nonstop emailing and running from place to place trying to get things done.  Even with everything that I am doing it seems like my list keeps getting longer and longer and more impossible to get through.

So the week started off with me finding out my boss is no longer my boss.  She is gone, vamoose, POOF!!!  It's just been crazy trying to get things in order with my new boss.  He didn't know everything that was going on and he has a completely different administrative style.  It's gonna take some getting used to.  

Other than that, I got my acceptance from Towson to take my class this summer!  YAY it went through, now I just have to wait for the bill.  It has been so stressful the past few days working on my schedule for next semester, making sure I have all my prerequisites for grad school and what not.  BTW I think I found some places where I would like to go!!  So happy!  I think I finally have a plan, I like plans.  Now I just have to see if it works out.

I am so exhausted trying to get all this done, and other than the fact that it really does need to get done, I have no motivation to do it.  I really want to just be back at home, lounging around, taking as many naps as I want and baking whatever I can find to bake.   While I was home I attempted to make cookies, oatmeal raisin for my dad and chocolate chip for Craig.  I found a recipe for the chocolate chip cookies that calls for a packet of vanilla pudding to keep them chewy.  I think it worked, they were really dense but tasted WONDERFUL!!!  The other thing I baked was black bottom cupcakes.  I love the ones from Starbucks so I thought I would give it a try.  They came out alright.  I need to practice making the filling and dropping it into the chocolate batter but otherwise they tasted great.  

So my favorite day of the year was so disappointing!  Saturday was the Annual Chocolate Festival.  It's a morning of chocolate tasting and sugar highs!  unfortunately, this year they decided to double the price and only half of the normal vendors were there.  The only good thing was the GIANT caramel apple I got.  It was a green apple with caramel of course, but it was then covered in icing and cinnamon sugar!  It tasted like an apple pie!

Well, I have avoided homework for long enough now.  I also don't have much longer on duty so I get to head upstairs.  Wish me luck for the rest of the week.  I'm gonna need it.

So much for free time!

Well, so much for free time!  The past two weeks have been non-stop.  From papers to presentations, practicals, programs, and doctors appointments, there hasn't been a single minute to relax.  That has been the reason that my goal to write at least once a week went out the window.  

So the doctors finally figured out what was wrong with my eyes.  Apperently I got a little infection that caused my eyes to get inflammed.  They put me on these steroid eyedrops that really did help, but man did they taste bad.  I felt like I was sucking on hard candy for a week and a half straight to keep the taste away.  At least it's over now.  I just have to wait until the end of the week to see if the infection flares back up.  If not, I get to start wearing contacts again.  Wearing glasses for a whole month was not something I have been too happy about.

On the bright side, after tomorrow, I will be home for spring break.  I can't believe how quickly this semester is going.  It seems like just a few weeks have gone by with an insane amount of work.  But in reality, I have been on campus for seven weeks already.  It's crazy to think that I am halfway through the semester.  And once this semester is over I'll be a senior!  NOT READY NOT READY NOT READY!!!!!!!!  Graduating means grad school and I have no clue where I want to go for grad school.

Speaking of grad school, there is a course I need for a prerequisite for a lot of schools that I cannot get here.  So I have been looking since winter break for schools around home that offer it.  I finally found one!  Unfortunately, the websites for the school is impossible to navigate to find when it is going to be offered and if it's in class or online.  In order to get things figured out, I have been on a wild goose chase emailing the head of the department who referes me to the professor.  The professor sent me to the assistant head of the department, who chewed me out for no reason, and told me to talk to admissions and the registrar.  The admissions person completely disregarded what I was saying so I responded in a really nasty email.  I felt bad and emailed back an appology, but she still wasn't helpful.  I don't know how much more of this I can take!

So we bought tickets to Jr/Sr this week.  It's gonna be a lot of fun, but it's gonna be weird going with Craig.  I've been with him for almost three years now, but I've never gone to a dance with him.  Prom was a long time ago, and he was just a friend then.  Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited, but its just kinda weird.  We also bought tickets to go to a concert in CLEVELAND this summer!  Me, Craig, and two of our friends are driving out there.  To appease my parents, I said that I would look at Cleveland State U.  I wish I knew where I wanted to go.  I wish I knew what area of the country I wanted to be in.  I don't want to leave Craig, or my parents, but Utah is so tempting to go back to.  So many decisions.

I have to say, that I am thoroughly enjoying sleeping in today.  My lab this morning was cancelled because of practicals.  Mine is tomorrow so I don't have to worry about it until then.  But I still have yet another paper to write and a presentation to finish along with study for this practical for tomorrow.  Oh well, its almost over.  And not to mention, I had some REALLY great King Cake for our Mardi Gras program.  It went well, I was proud of what we put together and I think the girls had fun.  Well, I guess I need to get ready for class.  No promises for writing next week but I don't think it will be a problem, I'm not working while I'm home, so what else do I have to do?  Wish me luck with the next day and a half!

Where did the week go?

So here we are again, a week later.  I have another paper, again not done.  It's halfway through the week and I'm left wondering where the hell did it go?  Well, dinner on Friday went really well.  It was nice to have home cooked food.  Also, I got to go to the Macaroni Grill TWICE this weekend, I am pasta-ed out!  Don't get me wrong, the food is AMAZING but too much too often can give you a pasta hangover, trust me!  

I didn't mention it last time but my eyes have decided to rebell.  They have rejected contacts and are holding out.  Any time I try to put them back in my eyes start to turn bright red, I look a little bit like I'm possessed.  Having dealt with this for over a week now, I finally decided to give in and go to the doctor, but not until Saturday, FAR TOO BUSY!!!

This weekend was a lot of fun.  Owen came up for Little Sib's Weekend.  It's really nice to have him around but on a Saturday night on a college campus, it's easy to tell that it's not really the best place for an 11 year old.  He was good though.  We went bowling, played pool and ping pong, put most of a puzzle together, and tried to watch Ghostbusters.  I haven't been back to see what happened to the rest of the puzzle.  

The week in progress is crazy, but not as crazy as the 2 weeks to come.  I can't believe that there are really only 2 weeks left until spring break!  There is too much to get done.  So today we had part 1 of our anatomy test.  It went well but it makes me worry how hard part 2 is going to be.  If I spent almost an hour on the half with the easy information, how is Friday going to go?  Has anyone ever noticed how long psychology chapters are?  I swear I have read more this week for psych than is physically possible.  Like I mentioned before, I am here trying to write yet another paper.  They aren't hard but knowing me, I am the biggest procrastinator and a paper due every week does not go over well.  

It's a Wednesday night so I'm stuck in the office.  Not a lot to do, other than my paper that is.  I wish someone would come distract me.  But then again, I do a good enough job distracting myself.  I hope the SPOs have good stories for me, but I doubt it.  More than anything, I hope I can concentrate, sift through this research and write a decent paper in the next 3 hours.  Well, off I go.  Wish me luck!

Is it really Thursday already?

I can't believe how fast this week went by!  I feel like I've been running non stop all week but I still have a pile a mile high of things I have to do.  I really have a lot to do today even.  I am in between classes now and just wasting time, which is really against everything that I need to be doing.  I just came from anatomy lab and still smell like cat...eww gross!  I have to go to psych soon, not too bad.  Sometime today I need to run to Giant and get stuff for dinner tomorrow (shh it's a secret!)  More importantly I have another paper to write for seminar.  How many times do I need to remind myself that I need to get started on the papers earlier in the week.  It seems to always fall to Thursday when I finally get around to doing it.  But, it's Ace of Cakes night tonight! Hooray! So at least for an hour, the paper is getting put aside.  Well, the clock keeps ticking and reminding me that I need to get ready for class.  So far I've been able to keep up with the whole blog thing, 2 posts, that's a good record right?  I guess we will see.  (IT'S ALMOST FRIDAY!)

So I felt kinda left out of this whole blogging thing, so I thought I would give it a try.  I probably won't keep up with it, but might as well give it a shot.  For those of you who really know me, you know I am in love with frogs, Kermit especially.  Well, I guess I gotta start things out with him.

I love all the great things that Jim Henson came up with for my little green friend to say to all of us.  It doesn't matter who you are, because it speaks to anyone.  We may each have a different interpretation of what he is saying but it always hits home.  

Well, the Superbowl is on tonight so I guess I better get working on homework so I can sit down and watch.  To much of my disappointment, the Broncos did not make it this year :(  But there is always next year!  Also, against most of the people here in PA, GO CARDINALS!   You gotta root for the underdog!
